Gods Voice through Rosa – 1 Peter 2:9
There is much more to scripture than just reading. When the Word is researched, and broken down into proper context, we realize there is much more to scripture than we even realized.
For instance, let’s look at 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) and break the words of this scripture down, using the ancient Hebrew definitions for words in the scripture.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9 KJV).”
SCRIPTURE WORD BREAKDOWN
Utilizing Strong’s Concordance for definitions and searching out the ancient Hebrew context, I searched out the true meaning of the words in 1 Peter 2:9.
Choosing to start with the word “chosen”, which in Hebrew the word is בָּחִיר . There were many references, such as: “having been selected by God for a special relationship; destined for salvation; acceptable; excellent; the elect; favorite; the best of its kind or class; join.”
The word “holy” is חָסִיד in Hebrew it is defined as: “faithful, kind, pious, godly, merciful, saint, gracious, sacred, an angel, sanctify, hallow, dedicate, consecrate, appointed, purified, clean, and pure.”
The word in this scripture I loved the most is “peculiar” which is סְגֻלָּה in Hebrew and defined as: “peculiar treasure, special, jewel, particular treasure, valued property, private property.”
I went through the whole scripture searching out each word in 1 Peter 2:9. Upon finishing, I prayed in the spirit for guidance before writing down what God gave me from this scripture. Here is what I received from the Holy Spirit:
“But you having been selected by God for a special relationship with him and are destined for salvation; who finds you part of the elect; who finds you acceptable and excellent; and you are his favorite. You are joined with him, and he sees you as a king who reigns with him; who sees you as faithful, kind, merciful, and gracious; who has appointed you clean and pure; who sets you apart; who sees you as private property; a treasure, a special jewel; that you should make noise, and announce the virtue, goodness, and excellence of him who hath pulled you out of gloom, unreceptivity, obscurity, calamity, and misfortune, and brought you among his extraordinary, wondrous, his shining splendor, the glory surrounding God.”
This scripture means much more to me after researching and exploring the original context of the words, understanding the revelation of what He is truly saying to us, how He sees us, and what we look like through the eyes of our Father.
I went even further with this scripture, personalizing the Word for my prayers, shown to me as the following:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that I have been selected by you for a special relationship with you and I am destined for salvation. I thank you Father, that you find me part of the elect, acceptable and excellent. I thank you Father, that I am your favorite and I am joined with you. I thank you Father, that you see me as a Queen who reigns with you. I thank you Father, that you find me faithful, kind, merciful, and gracious. You have appointed me clean and pure and I am set apart by you, Father. I am your private property, your treasure, a special jewel. So, Father, I make noise and announce your virtue, goodness, and excellence, for you have pulled me out of gloom, unreceptivity, obscurity, calamity, and misfortune and brought me among your extraordinary and wondrous shining splendor; the glory that surrounds You. In the name of the most supreme king, Jesus.” Amen.
